  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Greetings All.

After many months of R&D, HSD Coilovers for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe are finally ready. Sedan versions will follow soon. HSD is the most popular coilover brand for the Genesis Coupe in Korea. Their manufacturing facility is only a few minutes away from Hyundai's test track and the company has over 15 years experience building quality suspension components for OEMs and the aftermarket.

After chatting with the Genesis Owners admin staff, I would like to use this thread as a gauge of people's interest for an exclusive order.

This is the best value for quality aftermarket coilovers you are ever likely to find.

Background

HSD Coilovers are manufactured in Korea by an OEM and aftermarket suspension manufacturer which has been supplying international markets for over 15 years.
HSD is the manufacturer's own brand, having already been established in the UK, mainland Europe and Australia. It's finally our turn!

Right now we are launching the brand in North America and wish to offer limited introductory pricing to Genesis Owners members.

You will never see this price again for coilovers of this quality.

Features

ALL HSD Coilover models feature:

  • Monotube shock bodies with beefy 44mm pistons for superior damping.
  • Fully threaded steel or aluminum (depending on model) shock body with adjustable lower
bracket for easily adjusting ride height independent of spring preload. Retains full shock
travel. Don't sacrifice ride quality for the look you really want.
  • Fully anodized aluminum spring perches for setting spring preload.
  • 15-step bump and rebound damping adjustment.
  • Adjustable camber plates with high-quality solid spherical-link (AKA pillow ball) mounts.
  • Completely rebuildable for peace of mind going forward.

See the site for more information on individual models. http://www.hsdcoils.com

I haven't gotten the final word on spring rates, but expect them to be around 10-12 kg/mm (560-670 lbs/in) in the front and 8-10 kg/mm (450-560 lbs/in) rear.

Additional custom spring rates are also an option.

Exclusive Genesis Owners Cost

HR: USD$1150

HA (aluminum): USD$1450

HT (3-way with remote reservoir): USD$1750

Shipping will add about $120 depending on your geographical location.

IF INTERESTED, please post. I want to gauge the level of interest before committing to this buy.

If you have any questions feel free to ask them here or PM me at your convenience.

Thanks

Mike

Will this fix the suspension issues some owners have raised on the Genesis sedan?

If by issues you mean a harsh ride, then the answer is: it depends.

Coilovers are typically stiffer than OEM-- however, with these you have the ability to order custom spring rates that are softer and more in line with stock.

Ride quality vs. handling can then be tailored to your liking. It's a simple matter of twisting a knob to adjust for softer or firmer damping.

In summary, if you go with default spring rates, it is very unlikely you will experience a bouncier ride than OEM.

If you choose custom spring rates and keep to the softest damping then yes, this will fix the issue.

Unless you mean another issue I haven't read about yet? So far I've only read the reports of a particularly harsh ride and some clunking/noise.

My Sedan rides like a truck the rear is especially bad. The coils have a free height of 341.6 MM coil count unknown, coil rate unknown.

The Shocks have 5543 3M802 stamped on the sides.

Can you supply softer springs for read and softer shocks to go along with them?
