  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lexus announced the 2013 LS 460, and from the pictures, it looks better now.
HP is up at 386, which is 1 more than the Genesis 4.6.

Has anyone driven a recent (2010-2012) LS?
How does it compare with the Genny 4.6?
I've never seriously considered the LS due to the starting price of $67k and so never test drove it.
Is the ride/comfort/features/powertrain better than the Genesis?
I'm sure the interior materials might be higher quality, eg, the wood and leather, but besides that, is there any other advantage?

The LS 460 comes in regular and sport packages, so one should be careful about generalizations. The ride and handling are quite a bit different on the sport. They also have an AWD version. I have even hears some say the sport option is too stiff, which means it may be acceptable to some who might otherwise say the LS 460 is too soft. Of course, there is still that problem with the LS 460 price vs the Genesis.

The non-sport, last generation LS460s I've owned were luxurious isolation chambers on four wheels. Interior materials were very good. Air suspension systems were very expensive to repair, although these cars were more reliable than their peers. I'm sure the sport version is more engaging to drive, but price??? In no way is it justified IMO.

The look of the new LS460 F Sport looks really good in my opinion compared to the old look.

I'm withholding final vote on front end styling. A big wildcard will be what it looks like with a front license plate for the nazifrontplatestates.

I'm probably in the minority but I prefer the understated luxury look of the previous LS instead of the more in-your-face look of the new one...it's too aggressive and it isn't a good looking aggressiveness to boot.

It looks like the predator with his mask off. Just another gussied up Toyota IMPO

X2- IMHO A bit too gawdy for a Lexus owner. On another note- sure wish Hyundai could learn a bit (quite a bit) from Lexus customer service practices.

Seems like the reason why a lot of Lexus owners buy Lexus in the first place...the customer service is awesome. But yeah, the Predator-esque grille doesn't work for me.

Twenty to thirty grand for a Toyota is a lot of coffee and donuts and people running around with escorts.

I have always received exceptional service at Jenkins Hyundai in Ocala Florida.

Pete Palys service manager is a true professional who is always willing to go the extra mile for customers, and they have cappuccino, coffee, soda and fresh pastry to boot. ;)

I'm with you. This does not look like luxury anymore.

ugly front end.

Keep in mind that this the pic is the 2013 Sport Version. It is not supposed to look exactly like a luxury car, but is supposed to be a bit "mean" looking. The standard 2013 version is less "mean looking" on the front .

However, I do agree that the understated 2012 looks better to me, maybe because I am not 25 years old anymore. The LS 460 2012's are still available, probably at pretty good prices (relatively speaking), if you want one.

The non F-Sport hardly looks any better. In fact, the F-Sport pulls off the look better. The grille just doesn't exude luxury.

I think it looks considerably better than the F-Sport, but both of our observations are opinions, not facts.
