I recently had the spark plugs changed ( 3.8) at a cost of just over $1000.00. Is this normally the expected cost. Seems a bit high

ouch. must have been done at a Hyundai dealer. Or do you need to pull off the intake and or the manifold to get to the plugs?
 
How many miles? Who decided to put new plugs in it, and for what reason?
