  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I'm new here having just registered. Might take me a while to get the feel for what I'm doing. I bought a 2013 Genesis 3.8, Cabernet Red with Premium and Tech packages. Only had 25k miles and looks absolutely brand new. Traded a Kia Optima with a lot of road miles as a result of my job. Plan to put lots of miles on the Genesis but I can already tell that it is light years ahead of what I was driving.

I've been lurking around on this site for about 6 weeks now and have already learned a lot. I can tell that you guys/gals are dedicated to your vehicles. I'm already loving mine and look forward to being able to contribute to the site. :):):)

Welcome! You'll enjoy your ride for sure!

Congrats! Same model as me. You are going to love it.

I do suggest you consider buying the Hyundai Protection Plan (HPP) extended 10/100 warranty. Some of the electronics are expensive and have a reputation of being a little flaky.

Nice car. Good year. Good choice.
Welcome aboard.:welcome:

I bought the car from CarMax and not a Hyundai dealer. When I registered it with Hyundai I was told I have a 5 yr./ 60k mile warranty since I am the second owner (looks like 28 months remaining from in service date). Since I drive so much I bought an extended MaxCare warranty through CarMax which gives me 5 yrs. from date of purchase and 125k miles. Zero deductible and looks to be very comprehensive in what it covers. My local Hyundai dealer will honor the warranty for $50 per occurrence whereas CarMax is zero deductible.

Welcome aboard! Thank you for signing up and congratulations on your Genesis Sedan! That's a nice upgrade from the Kia Optima...

Welcome!

I was thinking about an optima before I purchased my Genesis. What differences can you see already?

The Genesis has way more creature comforts i.e. smoother ride, more comfortable seats, better stereo, a lot more power, more quiet both inside and out. I have to say though that the Optima had beautiful body styling, in my opinion it was every bit as nice to look at as the Genesis. My Optima was an LX so there are lots of options on the higher models that would probably make it better, but those options come at a cost which can put it into the price range of a gently used Genesis.

I looked hard at a Kia Cadenza when time came to make a trade. Nice car but nowhere near what I am driving now.

Hope that's the info you're looking for.
