  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello. Considering a Genesis as our new car purchase. Also considering a Volvo S60, Acura TL, Lexus ES350/450, Nissan Murano, Audi A4, Subaru Legacy, and the new Toyota Venza. I know, make up your damned mind already. We are in no hurry. Our 05 Dodge 2500 diesel lease is up in mid October so plenty of time to decide. I just need to see and drive the new Genesis. Saw it at the Intl. Auto Show in Denver over the weekend. Would not let you sit in it. Considering Hyundai as they seem to be moving up and make a quality product. Kind of like Honda oh so many years ago. It better be cheap or I'll go w/ a prestigious manufacturer.

Welcome! Thank you for signing up! I see a lot of good choices there.. I never imagined Hyundai would be competing amongst a list of brands like Audi, Acura and Lexus.. You'll have a lot of test driving to do!

I think that is what people used to say about Honda, Toyota, and Nissan.

I imagine if the Gen does well Hyundai may create a new brand i.e. Acura, Lexus, Ifiniti.

Welcome aboard.

As far as Genesis is conserned, when it comes to quality, I don't think it will fair well against the Europeans. Audi, and Volvo may score a KO over Genesis in quality, well, so far. I think Genesis is a choice over the Japanese. Part of the reason being is that, Hyundai was shooting to take over the Japanese in quality all up to now, and though they are claming that they set the benchmark to the Mercedes and BMW when they were developping the Genesis, I don't think it will be that easy to sway the loyal European buyers into shopping Hyundai. At least not yet. It WILL btw, switch some Japanese car buyers into Hyundai Showrooms. In terms of interior volumes however, Genesis sedan may be the king from the list you have given, but when it comes to the long term reliability, and overal quality, that remains to be seen.

Good luck in purchasing a new car. There are a lot of good choices in the market and it isn't easy to find the car that's right for you these days, but when you reserch, I am sure you will get a great deal.

I believe they're already working on that luxury brand in China. It's not named yet (as far as I know), but it's being worked on...

I don't see ANY German-car buyers switching to Hyundai ANY time soon. Even now, I don't see BMW, Mercedes or Audi owners seriously considering Lexus.. It certainly will be the Japanese autos that get replaced by Hyundai vehicles. Toyota, Nissan and Honda mainly. I can definitely see a LOT of Altima Coupe sales being lost to the Genesis Coupe.
