  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello. Just joined. I have a 2023 G70 SP AWD. Love it.
Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. How long have you had your G70 for? And what did it replace for you?

Hi, Sal. Thanks for the welcome. I got the G70 in November 2023. I came out of a 2020 Lincoln MKZ 3.0TT. I had a long line of Lincolns, starting with the LS in 1999. I had 3 of those. When they killed that, I went to the MKZ Sport models. I had 5 of those. Then they killed that. As you might gather from my screen name, I was a big Oldsmobile fan back in the day. We know what happened to them. My family and I seem to have a history with orphaned cars/brands, going back to my grandfather, who had a Hudson.

You might have also gathered that I'm on the older side. People look askance at me and wonder what an old fart is doing with this car. As the saying goes, "You can't sell an old man's car to a young man, but you can sell a young man's car to an old man. I'll never be an SUV guy, and I love sport sedans. Old hot-rodders never die. LOL.

I'm a moderator on 3 other automotive forums, and I'm glad to be a member here so I can learn more about my new ride.

The MKZ's are quite nice. I'm surprised you weren't a member of the Lincoln forum (or Oldsmobile forum, for that matter). I think the G70 makes for a nice update to the MKZ, though maybe not quite as smooth - as the MKZ seems to favor luxury over sport. I do remember the LS6 and LS8. Great cars as well. It's been a while since I've seen one, however. The MKZ, I see it all the time.

I'm still sad about seeing Oldsmobile go. Especially after how much I liked the Aurora...

Welcome to the fold, for me as long as I can mod it I have no problem with SUV’s / cars / minivans / etc etc etc lol.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

The MKZ's were nice, and I might have gotten another if they continued to make them, but they abandoned their loyal sedan customers. There's a replacement (Zephyr) sold only in China. That said, the Genesis has it all over the MKZ in features. And it is surprisingly smooth in Comfort mode.

The LSes were great cars and I still miss them. Yeah, you don't see them much anymore. The last ones were made in April 2006 and Ford no longer sells many of the parts needed to keep them running. There's still a Lincoln LS Owner's Club forum, but there's not much going on there these days. I'm still a member and moderator there. I never joined that Lincoln forum, but I am a member and moderator on the Lincoln MKZ forum as well. IDK why I never joined the Oldsmobile forum, but I'll check it out. Thanks for the link.
