  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, I just traded a 2016 LS460 in for a 2023 G90 3.5 E. While I loved my LS I wanted to upgrade for newer tech. I orginally was looking to upgarde to a newer LS but they were very hard to find and very expensive. I did not want any of the German sedans so that basically left the Volvo and G90. I test drove both a month or so ago and hands down the G90 was the winner. I found one at my local Genesis dealer that was a factory buyback with only 6000 miles and a $10,000 discount from normal market price in my area. The dealer said the reason it was bought back by Hyundai was activation concerns and most likely just to techy for the previous owner as there is no record of any problems found or repairs and has balance of 5 year bumber to bumber warranty or about 3.5 years left, I hope I did not make a mistake. It has the matte white finish which I really didn't pay much attention to but the more I look at it the more I like it but I'm reading the maintenence is a little more delicate. Any comments pro or con would be appreciated.

Nothing odd on the Carfax? You'll probably be okay. Anyway, congrats on the nice car and welcome to the forum.

Welcome! And congratulations on your new Genesis G90! How are you liking it compared to the Lexus LS you traded in? As far as the matte finish, hand washing is definitely suggested...

I liked my LS a lot especially the smooth as silk V8 engine which is not offered anymore by either Lexus or Genesis. That being said I test drove an LS with the V6 turbo and I think the G90 is smoother, especially with the mild hybird system. So far I am in awe of the G90 and all it offers, to get a 2023 LS with similar mileage and all those features, assuming you can find one it would have been literally 30 - 40 thousand more. My 2016 LS was solid but lacked the tech available in newer cars and the trade in value was almost what I paid for it 3 years ago (had to keep the dealer honest and got a quote from Car Max that they matched, reluctantly) so I took advantage. I know Genesis will not hold its reasle value like the Lexus but like I said I am really impressed with all the features. The warranty goes for another 3.5 years and if no issues I think this might be a keeper.

It sounds like you got a great deal on the trade-in, so that's excellent. It's a shame how things are changing to where engines aren't as smooth anymore - nor are rides (suspension). But the G90 is a heck of a car - for the money or otherwise. And it's a really nice and prestigious looking luxury sedan. Personally, I think it has more road presence than the new Mercedes S-Class...
