  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK, I just picked it up on Friday. Already have the trunk badge on, the wheel wing covers are on order as we the plate holder bolts, but what are the other must haves?

Things I would love to see:

full power seat for passenger (no up / down, lumbar)

HID High Beams (or really white bulbs)

Steering wheel wing emblem

Lower payments :-)

Video in motion: Saw 1 product, looked easy enough to install.

Better low end performance from the motor. I do moslty city driving (light to light) so the first 30 mph are the best.

Curious what else is on the must have list for all the other owners out there.

Would love to see some hard mount radar detector pics.

I will keep looking around the site, but any help / shortcuts would be great.

I have a black / tan 4.6 2009 sedan.

Thanks so much,

You pretty much nailed it. Auto close trunk. Center arm rest is hard, could be softer. Fold down rear seats. Front seats need to be longer.

I would add, Ceramic Tint. Wind deflector if you drive with sunroof open all the time. Color mud guards. Ipod cable. Custom windshield reflector.

more lateral bolster for the drivers seat.

rader based cruise control

full ESC disable

According to my sources, smart cruise control (with active braking) will be available on the 2010 Genesis. Also a lane departure warning system.

Probably will need the Tech Package to get these.

Hyundai also needs to keep from over engineering their cars. The core competencies are what sells cars. Lots of technogadetry has sex appeal, but it's just more crap to break and piss people off. Make what people want not what you think they should have,BMW IDrive anybody?

Hey, as I always say, "All it takes, is money"! If they put too many things in this car, the price will be up with the E350, and we don't need that.

Is the ability to dial in different suspension, steering and throttle settings nice to have? Sure, without a doubt.
Is it $3,000 nice?

Find Out...

Don't get started on the suspension. That is a whole 'nother animal.

I have the base model Genesis, primarily because I could not fit well into one with a sunroof. I wish I had the upgraded stereo and some of the other gadgets, but the upside is that I have not any problems with the car at all (except for the design problem with the suspension).

My point is, more gadgetry doesn't always mean more car. If you have the base V6 you paid the same as for a Toyota Avalon XLS. Toyotas are good cars, I own one, but you bot the best 33k large sedan on the market. Everything in life is relative. Remember, America is the second worse country in the world to live. Everywhere else is first.
