  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone! I'm a car guy through and through. I've owned more cars than I should have and belong to more car clubs than I need to be in. I love reading about both new and old cars and my money pit is a 1971 Buick GS350 convertible that has been in the family for 35 years. I'm looking forward to being a Genesis owner.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. 1971 Buick GS350! Wow. Are you a member of the Buick forum?

So what did your Genesis G80 replace for you? And how are you liking it in comparison?
My G80 replaced a 2013 Audi A8 4.0. It was a twin turbo V8 and a lovely car that I hated saying goodbye to it. More time is needed with the G80 before I can give you a fair comparison. One thing for sure, the G80 is a lot more tech heavy!

Yes, cars have become so technologically advanced in recent years. One of the great things about Genesis vehicles, in comparison to Audi, is reliability. Not saying that in every case it's going to be an improvement - but far more often than not - it's a very noticeable improvement...

My Genesis and I have gotten off on the wrong foot when it comes to reliability, but hopefully the factory and dealer will make things right and soon it will become ancient history. Question: how do I search for info on Extended Warranties and the wisdom of buying one and the cost? Since I'm the second owner, all of the nice org warranties don't transfer to me. I just get the 5 yr/60K warranty.

We have a search feature here. Search for "extended warranty" or "extended warranties". Something to keep in mind regarding reliability - and this goes for all brands nowadays - is that there's a ton of that tech heaviness you mentioned. It's not as simple as it used to be - even since 2013...

Curious - why did you go from an A8 to a G80 instead of a G90? Were you looking to go down a size/class in vehicle?
