  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Guys

I've been lusting after a Genesis Sedan since I attended their introduction back in 2008 (I'm in the auto business). Now that I'm fairly sure about what I want, I need some help identifying it: I'm looking for a 2011 3.8 as loaded as I can get it. My questions: How do I make sure that the car has a) adaptive cruise and b) the 17-speaker Lexicon? I think that the fascia surrounding the cd load slot should have the 7.1 symbol on the 17-speaker, but less than sure. Is there a button on the wheel that is different on cars with adaptive cruise?

Thanks in advance for your input. I'm looking forward to being a part of this community!

Those items (including 17 speaker Lexicon) are included in the Tech Package, which has a round DIS controller knob right in front of the shifter. The Premium Package and Base Trim models do not have the DIS knob.

I think it would have to have the DIS knob to have the adaptive headlights and smart cruise. To be sure, you can have the Hyundai Dealer run the VIN information and give you a printout of the car's equipment per the VIN information. The service manager can do this for you.

My understanding is that Tech package with adaptive cruise has different lower grille than Premium package. Look at the attached pictures.

Tech package with adaptive cruise has grille with three parts.
Somebody can correct me if I am wrong.

Was adaptive cruise available in 2011?

I thought you could get the DIS only with the V8 w/Tech package..... I was under the "assumption" the Tech package with the V6 was a touch screen w/out DIS...... wow..... I'm waaaay off..... glad I read this thread. ;)

The touch screen Nav is included with the Premium Package, I believe starting in 2010 (2009 Premium Package did not have Nav). The Tech Package is basically the same for V6 or V8, although there are some relatively minor trim options between the V6 and V8 prior to the R-Spec, and of course the R-Spec has its own minor trim differences.

Sorry, I do have the v8 with tech. Not sure about the v6.

The adaptive cruise was available in 2010 for both the v6 and v8 also. I have the v8 and test drove the v6. It was not available in either in 2009.

UPDATE: I'm in! 2011 3.8 Tech/Prem Titanium over Black. Just over 29K. VERY happy!!
