Hey guys, I purchased a new '09 Genesis 4.6 w/Tech package (Black/Cashmere) over the weekend. It was that or a used BMW 550i...I think we can all agree I made the right decision

I just wanted to say Hi, and that I like the site. I have my rear Genesis emblem on the way already too!

IMO, you have made the right choice and you will love the Genny.
Did you get a chance to mess with the DIS system yet?
Lexicon audio system is probably my favorite feature of this car.

Welcome Gambler! I would have went w/ the new car as well, but I'm a bit biased against the E60 5 Series. The E39 was my favorite 5 Series and then BMW ruined it with the Dame Edna headlights and cold, non-driver oriented interior layout IMO.

What Jwaters said. I had a 2001 530i, to this day probably the best car I have ever owned, when you factor all things. I just couldn't get myself to drive the E60 series, I really liked how it drove and felt, but the car is just too ugly, inside and out. I really like the F10. In a couple years, I will probably sell the Genesis and get one of those.

Thanks everybody. I'm still getting used to the car, trying not to hammer it too much right away...it is hard though. I've only scratched the surface of the DIS. I've gone as far as setting the EQ the way I like it.

I found one glaring flaw last night while driving. You can't read the buttons Defrost, Fan Speed, Temp, etc... How could they not illuminate these buttons? Or is mine broken?

I'm not sure if they illuminate or not.
But I never recall having problems using those buttons at night, so I guess they DO light up?
Anyone else know this?

I'll see how mine works tonight.

Yep that one of my faves too. When I recieved the NEW SADE cd I went immediate to the Gen and put it in.....ahhhhhhh

I checked last night and made sure those buttons light up at night.
All the arrows and letters DO illuminate when the interior lights are turned on.
You might wanna have your dealer check the bulb/LED.

I've frequented other car forums, but I've never seen one that has as many devoted fans as this one. Most of the other forums are filled with gripes, but in this one 90% of the comments are positive.

I've only owned my Genesis about two months, but I absolutely love it, and my appreciation for it increases every day. I've owned other good cars including an Infiniti, but nothing comes close to the Genesis in luxury, features, and quality. Hyundai did an amazing job with it. I also think the Genesis is the best looking sedan on the road.

The climate control buttons should be illuminated. Get the dealer to check the LEDs.

One of my very minor complaints is that the Homelink garage door opener buttons aren't illuminated. I solved that problem by sticking a small, fuzzy coaster foot to the button I press.

Congrats, Gambler! I'm sure you have tried this but as a reminder make sure the interior light wheel is turned up high. That's located on the dash behind the left side of the steering wheel.
Three weeks old and I'm still getting the ooohs and aahhhhs.

Thanks for the help, I figured out my headlights weren't on...the highway I drive on is lit up so I didn't notice It's all good now!
