  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi there,

I am new to this forum and new to Genesis. I am getting a 2022 Genesis GV70 3.5 sport luxury in 3 weeks and excited about it. Currently in Central Queensland having moved from the UK approx 9 years ago.

I've always been a car guy and owned mainly Japanese cars with Lexus, Toyota, Honda and a few older European cars in my younger days.

Looking forward to contributing to the group and seeing what others say.

Cheers,

Tom

Welcome aboard, Tom! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. It's always great to have a new car enthusiast in the community. It sounds like you've had some pretty nice cars. What is the GV70 replacing for you?

Thanks and looking forward to getting the new car (2022 but new to me). I've had mainly Lexus and my most recent one was an RC350 that I owned for 5 years. Never owned an SUV or crossover either before so will be very different in sure

I'd love to hear what you think of the GV70 being you've been a Lexus owner for quite some time... The RC350 is quite nice but I think the GV70 is going to feel good for you being a bit higher (offering a bird's eye view) but still having good handling and a good bit more room. Genesis is a lot more cutting edge compared to Lexus - and you may appreciate that as well...

As I've hit 43, I've thought that I'm getting a bit too old for the coupe and was looking at an SUV anyway. It was between one of these and a Porsche Macan. I'm ready for a higher up car that's built for comfort so looking forward to it. I would have to say that the RC was really comfortable and surprisingly so on a long trip and roomy for the front passengers but not the rear seats. Cheers

I've never been in a Lexus RC, but it sounds like it was sort of a successor to the Lexus SC - which I've never been in either (other than sitting in at an auto show or showroom). But it really does sound like the GV70 will fit your needs perfectly. Keep us posted on your experience once you get it. :)
