  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just wanted to say hi. Picked up a 4.6 from Hyundai St. Augustine today. It's a pristine 2009. I do have two questions but could not find answers,

1. On the front grill which appears to be brushed chrome or aluminum there is a tiny spot where the brushed finish has been "nicked off". Dealer did not know how to correct defect. This small 1/4 inch area appears shiny. Any thoughts on how to restore to duller brushed look? Anybody have this happen? Is it peeling and will it spread?

2. My Genesis has the "wing emblem" on the deck, hood and rims. Any idea of waht this accessory cost. Just curious.

Thanks

J

Congrats on your new Genesis.

Born and raised in JAX. Moved out to Seattle about 18 years ago. I really miss the beaches there.

Not sure what to tell you about your issues. There is alot of information out on this forum so help is on the way.

Congrats! The Genesis emblems vary in price on ebay but you could get that same full kit as on your car for $75+- delivered

Buying the badges on ebay should be around $80 and that leaves you to do the install. (less than 1 hours work).
Going through a dealer, well, the sky's the limit! I have read 250-450 and up when they do the install.

The wing badges for 4.6 wheel caps are much more than they suggest (assuming the correct ones on installed on your Genesis), and cost about $230 alone. The hood and trunk badges cost about $20 each (assuming the previous owner installed them himself).

Yes you are correct, I was referring to the standard V6 caps at around $15 each.
They fit the V8 wheels but not everyone likes the look. So for $170 more they have the ones you are referring to, which are aftermarket and not from Hyundai.
