  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai inflates the tires to about 51 psi for travel. It is supposed to minimize flat spotting while the vehicle sits still in the boat for an extended period. The dealer is supposed to reset the tires to recommended pressures before delivering the vehicle.

I wondered why my GV70 had a rather bouncy ride. Turns out the dealer neglected to set the correct pressures. (That's not all he missed, but that's another topic.) If you haven't already done so, you may want to check your tire pressures. You can do it without leaving your seat.

I asked my Genesis dealer to swap my winter tires for summer tires (the stock tires it comes with) and while it was there, somebody supposedly backed up over my stock tires (one of them) and wrecked it. They had to buy me 4 new ones to replace it, which they did. But when I got my car back, all the tires were at about 40-45 psi for some reason. I noticed it immediately and stopped on the way home to let the air out back to what they should be (something like 32 front/35 rear). It made a huge difference. No idea why they would have put so much air into them!

Did you save the surplus air for future use?

Of course, that's why I carry balloons with me at all times

Checking tire pressure is one of the first things I do when I acquire a vehicle. If air is required I use an 80% mix of nitrogen i.e. straight out of the air compressor pump.
