  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Still curious as to why the 5.0 wasn't offered in 2016. While I love my 3.8 would have definitely appreciated the option of the V8 when purchasing!

Don't know where you are but it was offered in the US and Canada.
The V8 was offered in Canada for 2016, and was listed on the USA website and brochures (Hyundai Motor America) early in the 2016 model year, but I don't think they actually delivered any V8's to the USA for model year 2016 (or maybe it was just a very few early in the model year). Since it is now offered in 2017 (G80), I don't know why it matters anymore.

Sh-- happens man.

My guess is that it was related to 2 factors.
1. There was a lot of 2015 V8 stock left over at the end of the 2015 MY. (Relative to 3.8, especially with AWD)
2. 2016 was a very short Model Year

There was no 2015 V8 with AWD in the USA (Canada did get it). I think the concern was the poor fuel mileage of the AWD and V8 together.

Yes - let me clarify - Leftovers were mostly V8 RWD, and 3.8 RWD in many areas. 3.8 AWD were in tighter supply first.
