  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2009 genesis 1G.. thanks in advance for any help.

My 2009 was a Tech trim with the 17 speaker Lexicon and would go silent from time to time, and my first 2012 did it a couple times too. Search for "silent amp" bug on these forums. Here's a couple old posts of mine on the subject:

TL/DR: Pull the battery negative for 20-30 minutes to reset the amplifier, or let the car sit powered off for a few hours. The capacitor in the amp will discharge (slowly) and reset the lockout.

If that does not solve the problem, look for the AMP fuse in the trunk. And if that is not the answer, the amplifier itself may have failed.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Just noting that I merged your two topics into this one.

You don't need to necessarily pull the battery cable. There's a fuse panel on the driver side when you open the door. There's a main fuse that will disconnect the electrical system. Pull the fuse for 15 seconds and push it back in and that should reset the system.
