  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can't believe we don't have a good source of intake & exhaust options yet. My Rspec is so quiet, I think it's a feat NASA engineers would be proud of. How the heck do you muffle 5 liters so well??????

I have read just enough to be confused. Looks like Skywagon & others are trying to lay the groundwork for the vendors, but is there a full exhaust system that includes:

Rear 2 cat deletes
Crossover pipe to muffle drone
Increase sound without being out of place loud?

Where are the air intake vendors???? When you make a better car than the Germans for 1/2 the price, you would think the after market crowd would be screaming for upgrades b/c of left over money to spend.

Drv200,
My modification can be done very inexpensively. If one unbolts the secondary cats at the front of them and the resonator at the flanges where they join the plumbing for the mufflers one can re-install the whole system if necessary. Any reputable shop that welds can manufacture the the plumbing and balance pipe and simply bolt it in. I purchased the secondary cat delete plumbing hoping that it would make a difference in the sound but the change was miniscule. The balance pipe made a big difference after I had it installed. Car sounds perfect to me but that's subjective.

Right now, I think the R-Spec is a well kept secret. Once the word gets out, I think that we will see more products for our cars. I think we should see some good gains with intake and exhaust work on these vehicles. (IMO)

I agree guys! BRING ONTHE VENDORS. Contemplating starting my own Genesis Vendor Program with just the basics: CAI & Exhaust packages.

Do not expect vendors to produce aftermarket performance parts. Keep in mind that the production numbers for V8 Genesis is very small. Most owners do not frequent this forum; and most of those that do are not interested.
I say this from direct experience with a small production Cadillac CTS-V. They produced just 4000 annually of the early edition. I am good friends with TPIS, which developed headers for the CTS-V. I was one of their first customers in 2004. Now almost eight years later they have sold less than fifteen sets. Mfgs know this and are unlikely to do the R&D necessary for intake/exhaust systems unless they feel there is a strong market for their products.
