  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

No need to re-badge

My choice was not due to being ashamed of driving a Hyundai. I'm more than happy to tell anyone about the fact it's a Hyundai...that I paid over 20-Grand less for...and now am as close to Mercedes/BMW etc that I may ever get. I ditched the flying-H cause I simply thought it was the worse logo I've ever seen and the options were inexpensive and much better looking. After all...it still says Genesis on the wing! If we purchase another Hyundai of any model, (we love the Sonota!) I'll hope I have options then to ditch the H........

I came out of a Mercedes S Class (2nd one I've had) to the Genesis. Quite the opposite of ashamed or embarrassed to own a Hyundai, I am thrilled with the car - the way it drives and performs, the quality and the VALUE. Having said that, I just love the way the Genesis winged badges look on the car.

Looks better that the flying "H" and to be true to the car's roots in Korea, I went with the winged badge that comes on the car as it's sold in Korea.

I'm always quick to say, "It's a Hyundai" when people ask what kind of car it is. And I get asked almost every single day.

I say give credit where credit is due
Absolutely NOT ashamed to drive a Hyundai

Why did you re-badge?

Several reasons's
1-Thought the front of the car seemed plain with out a badge
2-My car is the Genesis in the Hyundai line up ( liked the Genesis on the back of the car )
3-Saw pictures of the Genesis wings and loved them
4-Found the front and back wings on the internet for 18 bucks no shipping and my dealership put them on for free
5-Personalized my Genesis the same as personal plates ect.
6-Branding - did not matter when I found and bought the Genesis but it will take time to be more recognized
7- Mainly , I love the wings !!!
;)

From conception, the car was intended to have the winged badge (meaning no 'H' period)...One could argue that the 'H' badge is counterfiet.

Wings look better and I am having a blast telling people what kind of car it is. They are all surprised.

I love giving rides to my Lexus and MB owning friends in my winged-badge Hyundai. The wing badge just looks better, its not about hiding anything, otherwise I wouldn't put a wing badge on it but something else like a Lexus badge on it. That would be disingenuous.

I saw a guy with a regular 3 series BMW. He had the M3 logo on the trunk... it looked wicked stupid.

I have two other Genesis in my subdivision and they still have the "H." I think they look terrible. The "H" simply does not suit the car.

Of the Genesis I see out and about, about half seem to be rebadged.

I agree that Hyundai has come a long way since 1986. Since I am aware that Hyundai has spun the Genesis line off and this is indicated by the J.D. Powers report. It is deserving of it's own badging. Hyundai has informed the dealers Genesis and Equus will separate from Hyundai and be their own line like Lexus did from Toyota but keep the same showrooms. I am an Equus dealer as well.

I look for future models to come with their own Genesis badging from Hyundai. Currently I have almost 30 Genesis at my dealership and I badge each one during the pdi process. So each new owner has all the badges installed when they leave the dealership. I just started this process but no has requested the flying H so far.

so are you saying that Hyundai gave you wings?

Nah......that would be Red Bull no? ;)

I just picked up my 2011 4.6 last Saturday, I asked about the re-badge option and they said that Hyundai did not have any badge options but that I could find them on e-bay, we also talked about the Equus / Genesis show room that would be seperate from the Hyundai show room, square footage required, however they made NO mention of Hyundai dropping the H on the Genesis and I got the only option available, at this time, from Hyundai, the Hyundai H.
