  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Route guidance will not talk. I have a speaker cone with an X through it next to the bluetooth icon which is located at the bottom of my screen. Yet I have check every setting I can find and I have volume everywhere except through route guidance.

I eventually had to do a factory reset which of course lost all my saved address but at least it talks.. I checked the setting about "guidance volume" and it was on the higher side but NO voice at all no matter what.

So, what was wrong that the speaker icon with an X through it located next to the blue-tooth icon?

After the factory reset all was fine, just had to re-enter all the saved addresses.

Please help in case I run into this again? (yes I had turned the car off and back on)

Sounds like you had "muted" the guidance...

Sounds like you had "muted" the guidance...

The only place I knew to check the volume on "route guidance" was in the settings and the volume was in the higher end of the volume scale.

Where is the "mute" icon/button for route guidance? I was not able to locate anything like that.

Had this happen to me years ago with my Genesis. There is a voice command to unmute the mute but I don't remember what it is. You can probably do a search to find it because I know this subject has come up before . I think I have posted about it at least twice.

Push the DIS knob. Turn voice off or on.

Here's the voice command, "Guidance Voice on".
