  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Noise on acceleration between 110 Kmph to 120 kmph - Hyundai Genesis 2015

Has there been any further diagnosis and root cause identified? If so what is the diagnosis? Differential? Tranny? Intake?
Any status of the repairs?
“After having replaced the transmission and the differential, the whine is reduced but not completely gone. However, it is reduced. The issue comes only with all Hyundai Genesis 2015 v6 models, not the v8. And its related to the differential mainly, where it is designed in such as way that (unintentionally) caused some whine (or resonance) to manifest at certain speed range, which is unavoidable...”
Assuming you’re experiencing the same whine as the Dubai gentleman whom I quoted above, the issue appears to be directly related to the design of the V6 tranny/differential and replacement only reduces the symptoms, but not cure the issue.

My bet is the drive shaft bearings. Does it occur immediately after cold start or after a few minutes of driving?

The whine occurs while lightly accelerating at highway speed, so does not appear to be related to "immediately after cold start". I can reproduce it at will so will record it.

I have the same issue the sound reminds me of a fuel pump whine. I also get the krrrr or baseball card in the tire spoke sound between 25-35mph when the car is cold which is documented on the forums and related I believe to this issue as well, because the propeller driveshaft replacement has been a temporary fix. Hyundai needs to address this because who knows what the long term issues will be.

My whine noise at light acceleration was diagnosed as the differential which was replaced under warranty.

Have have the same noise coming from the driver side and I have a v8 noise is loud when I hit above 120 gets stupid loud at 145. I thought it was the governor kicking in?

The ears are sometime loose and will make a noise until they are tightened .Retired mechanic george

I've noticed a noise when I dip into the throttle in my V8 and it gets exponentially louder as I pass 80 - 90 - 100 - 110 MPH. It comes from the passenger seat and sounds like a woman screaming. :D
Glad to hear that someone else has that problem... Happens with my V8 too!

Its due to the differential, once replaced with a new one and properly calibrated, the whining noise subsides and gets much quieter. That's what I did back in 2015 in my v6 under warranty.

Thanks,
