  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A nail in my tire forced my hand this week to get new tires at 33k miles to replace the Michelin Primacy MXM. The MXM were a bit scary over the winter here. Even on cold dry days, I could feel the tires hardening up and losing grip. Nokian just released the Gen 4 tires of the WR line:

These are on my car now, at USD 216 a pop, from my local garage down the road. Threadwear warranty has been increased to 60K, 5k more than the WRG3.

Definitely a softer mushier tire that's less of a performance tire compared to the MXM. Turning onto the highway ramp under dry conditions today, I could go up to 42mph before loosing confidence, down from 44mph on the MXM. In the rain yesterday, however, it felt safer cornering and braking than the MXM. For those in northern climates that need a daily commuter, there is a new candidate that should be on the short list.

Not on my short list, they are the only ones on my list. I had the G3 on two cars and thought they were great. Good snow performance as they are a real snow rated tire, but good in summer too. Like you, I want to a local tire dealer. The owner has them on his car and his wife's car.
