Not Calculating Alternative Routes

My new 2010 4.6 Tech is a great car. However, it appears that the "calculating alternative routes" function of the navagation system may be inoperative. I have attempted to determine alternate routes form Savannah, Ga to Lutz, Fl, and the system provdes the exact same route (Interstates) for the "shortest distance," "shortest time," and "minimize freeway" selections. I get the same results when calculating other destinations. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and how do I get it resolved?

I don't know if this will solve your problem, but you might want to look at page 204 of the DIS manual. It states that in order to calculate alternate routes, route guidance must not already be started. You can then select one of the calculated alternate routes.

Thanks for your reply, but done that and it's still inoperative!

This may not be really answering your post, however I always tell people with a GPS Navi unit that they still need a MAP.

I.E., they still need to know something about the roads they really want to use, and have a general idea about them. I often get off the Navi route, and "Geraldine", the girl in the unit, reroutes me right away. Many times, Geraldine tried to take me on routes I did not want. No problem. I just turn to a different road, and voila, new route pops up.

That's nice, and I agree. However, this feature was included in the price of the car and I would like to have it function and advertised (see pg 204 of DIS manual).
