  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What's more interesting is Hyundai suffered "a 40 percent decrease from November 2007 levels". Also, Hyundai only sold 30 more Genesis in November compared to October.

Corrections, the Genesis ended up the fifth most popular model behind the Sonata, Santa Fe, Elantra and the lowly Accent!

Here's how the Genesis compares to Lexus last month:

----- CURRENT MONTH ----- -- CALENDAR YEAR TO DATE --
DSR % DSR %
2008 2007 CHG 2008 2007 CHG

ES 4,116 5,902 -30.3 58,899 74,862 -21.6
LS 1,272 2,668 -52.3 18,804 31,969 -41.4
SC 83 268 -69.0 1,870 3,579 -47.9
GS 721 2,205 -67.3 14,559 20,802 -30.3
IS 2,749 3,849 -28.6 45,893 49,282 -7.2

Looks like it's time for Hyundai to adopt a new sales strategy!

glad we could add to the november total:D, Look at the drop-off of the azera:eek:

Considering the amount of cars being sold as a whole in the United States, I think the Genesis is doing okay...

More telling are the year to date figures. November is only 1 month, so comparing 11/2007 with 11/2008 doesn't really tell the whole story. 2008 YTD sales are off about 10% from 2007. Not too shabby given the current state of the economy/automotive industry IMO.

It's also the only model in the lineup to have an INCREASE in sales from last month.

Im not sure how much of a market there will be for the Azera at the price it is at. Very close to the Genesis so I think that has alot to do with it.

Here's how the Genesis is stacking up against the competition:

US Market August - November:

BMW 5-Series (14,595): 5,287 | 2,423 | 3,958 | 2,927
Mercedes E-Class (10,011): 2,681 | 2,968 | 2,098 | 2,264
Infiniti M (4,667): 1,211 | 1,077 | 1,193 | 1,186
Hyundai Genesis (4,478): 1,177 | 1,029 | 1,121 | 1,151
Lexus GS (4,203): 1,686 | 977 | 819 | 721
Audi A6/S6 (4,085): 1,520 | 1,090 | 758 | 717
Acura RL (1,081): 316 | 259 | 272 | 234

Looks like I have to wait until next year to get my Genesis or I'll have to find some other way to convince my wife.

Mods, is there anyway to "turn on" or add table support to the site. These stats are great, but really hard to read. I tried to paste in a table from Word and it didn't work either.

I'll chk with Sal... he may have to add some patch to the vB software though....

I believe uploading the file as an attachment is the only way... To my knowledge...

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Did they break down V8 vs V6 sales? I think the V8 option is a bargain at $2000.

Today's Wall Street Journal takes a different cut at November sales measuring how many days on the lot it takes for a particular model to sell. Here are the top 10 for November:

Model Days on Lot Vehicle Price*

Mini Cooper 11 $26000
Pirus 12 26436
Honda Fit 15 17614
Dodge
Challanger 20 36067
Audi A/5/55 20 54202
Corolla 25 17298
GENESIS 27 37812VW Eos 28 32407
Scion xD 28 16443
Civic 29 19343

* Less customer cash rebate

Ooops. In case your counting you may have noticed I left out number 8 which is VW Eos, 28 days on the lot and priced at $32407

average of 27 days to sell a Genesis... not bad considering all those domestic 2008 models they have no customers for!
