  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Fellow Members, I have some observatons that I would like your thoughts on:
I bought a 2012 Black on Black V6 w Premium & Tech. 2000 mile review.

* Steering wheel is slippery and has no hand holds.
* Outside door handles seem to require a double pull to open(all doors)
* Air conditioning seems weak
* Minor problems with nav screen lock up

Other wise I love this car:)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Just put 1000 miles on 2012 Black V6 with Prem and Tech with cashmere interior.

I agree that I wish that there was more to the steering wheel
Wish had bluetooth ipod capability to stream
AC is fine to me and it is 95 degrees here today

Installed mudguards myself. Wish they had made the temp screws easier to get off.

Otherwise I love my car

I didn't much like the steering wheel either, so I bought a nifty aftermarket - see my album

I see why you like it. I really don't want the wood (had it on my 2009 Azera). Just want the wheel to be "plusher" if that is a description. 2013 Azera is nicer.

My dad just bought the new 2012 Azera, which came out a few months ago (2013 will be a while) and I am quite fond of the interior. I must say I find it much more appealing vs. the Genesis. This includes the Steering wheel.

The new Azera looks terrific. If I were in the market for a car now I'd take a hard look, but the FWD is a turn-off. I had an 06 Azera for 4 years and liked it a lot.

Greetings A60827. I am a new Genesis owner with a 2011 4.6. I don't have a problem with the steering wheel, my doors open with one pull of the handle, the A/C does seem anemic when first statrting up but it's been hot here in S.C. and I have not had any problems with my navi screen locking up.

The steering wheel was a little slick so we bought an aftermarket cover that matches the interior perfect (matte black leather and wood grain trim).

My doors open on 1st pull.

Nav screen doesn't lock up but the whole nav system has much to be desired. The last trip we took, I didn't bother with the nav; I ended up taking our portable Magellan and set it right on the car's nav screen.

The a/c doesn't cool instantaneously; it takes a minute or two. But when it does cool, it can get cold.

I really hope the good people at Hyundai are aware of the general disatisfaction with the Genesis' Nav system, and stories like this. How sad... it reminds me of those unfortunate folks who keep a portable stereo in their car because the car's own radio is so lousy. The Genesis should have at least current if not leading state of the art electronics, not warmed-over tech from the mid (early?) 2000's. C'mon Hyundai.... :(

My 2011 genny 4.6 with tech has a better nav system than my updated nav in my mercedes e500. I think both are very good with the Genesis having slight edge. The system in my 2004 Acura had a lot of errors in the maps.

Please do not make a "General Assumption" that people are not happy with the Nav system. My 2010 Tech package works well and as advertised.

My tech package nav is perfect. I love it.

My nav is not as pretty looking as my BMW, but it has never taken me in circles or tried to take me 30 miles to reach a destination that was 5 miles away.

Nav is great in the Genny. Far better than the wife's tomtom.

I test drove the Azera and Genesis 3.8 back to back before deciding to buy the Genesis 3.8.
The Azera definitely has a little torque steer, and the Genesis felt much more like my trade,
a 2003 BMW 525i. My only issues with the Genesis are the Navigation screen washing out in day light, some jitters
in the ride over Calfornia's deteriorating streets and highways, and the
steering wheel could be a little nicer. On the other hand it has much more
power than my old BMW, drinks regular gas, has much better a/c and has
more room and comfort. I recently drove a 2012 BMW 328i and 2012
Mercedes C 250 at a BMW event, and saw no reason to choose either of
these cars over the Genesis, although the BMW felt more sporting. The
Genesis was more like a BMW 5 series while priced like the 3 series.....

1993 Bentley Brooklands with full "mooch" package ;)

Love the look and feel of the Azera but the FWD and V6 make it a no go.
