  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am considering to get one to monitor the battery and battery coolant temperatures as I am getting very low fast charging speeds, even when battery is preconditioned. I suspect that the issue may be that preconditioning is not working properly. The max kwh that it uses is 4.2 when I believe it should be closer to 6.
With temperatures in the lower 30s, my speed is only about 40 kwh for about 15 minutes and only then start rising to the lower 100s. Initial SOC was 35%.
I would prefer a compact unit that doesnt cost and arm and a leg. What are you guys using?

I assume you have a smart phone. I would recommend getting the CarScanner Pro app for your phone, then get a BLE OBD dongle to allow the phone to connect to the car. I've had best results with the OBDLink CX, which is currently $80 on Amazon.

Originally I started with the VPeak dongle, which is only $31.

The VPeak dongle did work with CarScanner Pro, but it didn't work with A Better Route Planner, so I had to get the more expensive one. Also, the OBDLink CX automatically goes into low power mode when the car is turned off. With other OBD adapters it's recommended that you unplug the adapter when you're not driving. Considering the 12v batter problems that EGMP cars have this gives me extra peace of mind. However, I did get this extension cable with a switch, which I can use to easily disconnect the OBD device if I'm not going to be driving for an extended period of time. It's a lot easier to flip this switch on and off than it is to futz around plugging and unplugging the OBD device under the dash.

Tks for the info. I dont see a carscanner pro at the app store. There is cardscanner ELM and cardscanner. Is there use free or need monthly subscription?
I noticed that their website does not have any tech support links, phones, etc. not even an email address…
