  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Oh My! (Cadillac CTS-V)

Re: Oh My!

I'll take a Hellcat Charger over one of those in a heartbeat. Not a fan of the look of the new CTS-V.

Guess it depends on personal taste. The hellcat is made for 0-60 and that is about it. If you want some handling, luxury and refinement you need to dish out substantially more and go with the caddy. Acceleration on the caddy (on paper) is the same as the hellcat around 3.7. Both of them are darn fast.

Hellcat Charger is faster than 3.7 seconds for 0-60 and handles very well from the reviews to date. Interior looks fantastic as well IMO. All personal preference.

Re: Oh My!

Two different rides, sharing top of list HP ratings. One appears to be an in your face street light champ and the other more of a wolf in a tuxedo, ala M car. Probably prefer the Caddy as it has more all around use where the Charger is more of an in your face example of excess - not that there's anything wrong with that. Both offer HP impossible to use in 99.9% of situations, but who cares.

Re: Oh My!

Beautiful car. However, the Piano Black center stack just kills it for me.

Love the concept but all that garbage on the hood and ridiculous front and rear spoilers kill a really nice exterior. They may be catching the Germans in chassis dynamics but they could still learn a few things about classy aggression.

Sick!!!!!! Just like the MSRP will be......

I expect the MSRP will be a bit less than a comparable M or AMG; you may even be able to actually buy one of these for under six figures. I'm pretty sure the five figure M5 and E63 only exist on the respective company's website.

I loved the way the last gen CTS-V drove. I seriously considered the CTS Vsport (420 HP V6 TT) before I bought the Genesis, but I could see myself getting sick of the looks after a couple of years. I could also see myself putting my fist through the shiny black capacitive interface.

I think it's funny that, with almost 100 more HP, this one is only slightly faster 0-60 than the last gen CTS-V (about 3.9 sec for the V2). I'm sure it's significantly faster once you get over 100 MPH, but nobody publishes the "60 to jail" time. Even if there's not much opportunity to use that much power on the street, it is a bit intoxicating just knowing it's there.

IMO, the Genesis 5.0 has the perfect amount of power for a street car. While it's never made me exclaim "holy excrement!", it's also never made me shout expletives at the infotainment screen.

Cant wait for the wagon version....

new Vee will dog a hellcat

Why do you say that?

Vee weights approx 415lbs less. Although Hellcat has an advantage of 67 horsepower and 20lb-ft of torque of Vee "reported" numbers. Once they hit the lot, I'll bet you a beer that Vee will be on top. GM probably adjusting the tune right now to add a couple tenths on times

I do love the Hellcat but I hope you're right. :p I'm more of a Cadillac follower than Dodge...
