  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So its my first post ! WOot WoOt, so first of all I say hi to all!
Second of all I must say that there is a new Hyundai Dealership opening up were I live in Moose Jaw, Sk and I've came to the decision to trade my 2005 cobalt ss/sc off for a bea-u-tiful genesis but I can't make up my mind.... 2.0 or 3.8?

See I've always owned a car with boost first car was a LeBaron 2.4 turbo, which I rebuilt and ran 22psi till it died lol.... Now the cobalt which is supercharged running 18psi (2.8" pulley), and I must say im addicted to boost... I know some of you think I need help because N/A is just as a good to but Im fan of boost and I don't think there is a cure for it.

So here is were I run into a problem, I want a genesis but I don't want to take such a performance drop I would like to be able to have the option of bolt on and be able to at least gain back what Ill lose quickly... frankly I'm bored of the balt and want something different.

I guess I'm asking what you guys think on comparing a 2.0 Genesis to a stock balt in term of performance and handling and 3.8 vs the balt to?

If you had to choose trading my balt in 2.0 or 3.8???

I know both models will have so much potential like the 2.7 tib, I'm sure ngm or someone will come out with a s/c but which will lay down some nice numbers, for the 3.8 but at the same time, a tune some bolts on and your already going to be up to the 3.8 you change the turbo and you could easy do 350+whp i think with the 2.0

Please just tell me what to Get ARRRRhhhHH

If you have any intention of modding get the 2.0

If you want a g37 feel without any mods go for the 3.8

I personally have a 2.0 Track and love it.

Johnny k is right .if youre going to touch the engine get the 2.0t.all my tuners know that its the same parameters as the mitsu evo engine so with a chip,intake...they will push well above 300hp quick!that spec-r will be here before you know it......

See im torn between to loves :( , although the 2.0 is great, what is the stock turbo going to be able to handle? if i guy the 2.0 and have to dump 3k in for a turbo back, and turbo just to get to the 3.8 well now i could have just spent that to get the 3.8 and possibly supercharge it? unless there is someone who has 300hp with stock turbo?

I Have come to the conclusion to get the 3.8 reasoning behind it is, 1. 2.0 turbo would be a great moder but.... some small things have turned me away from it the feel of the car and the 1/4 gas thing.... gay!
2. the 3.8 which seemed to be very strong motor i think will be great supercharged :)

1/4 gas thing?

It certainly sounds like the acceleration of the stock 2.0T won't be sufficient for you. So 3.8 seems the way to go.
