  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm due for an oil change for my 2014. I'd love to do it myself but not interested at the moment in dealing with lifting the car enough to get under there and scrape up my back removing the undercover etc. My Hyundai dealership requires me to drop off the car and it ends up being an entire-day ordeal which my schedule doesn't easily allow. My office is next to a Walmart so I was considering having them do it while I'm at work (plus they're very inexpensive), but I'm leery of idiots screwing something up. I already have the OEM filter and will request Mobil1 5W-20.

Has anyone had good luck with Walmart or any other quick-lube places for an oil change for the Equus?

Its a crap shoot. I do know a couple of small shops that I trust, but you just never know with any of the big shops. You can get a very knowledgeable veteran or the kind that started yesterday. How many Equus do you think WalMart changed in the past year.

I don't understand why you dealer required a drop off. I was always able to make an early morning appointment and be out in about an hour. Perhaps you can talk to someone else aside from the service writer taking the easy way out.

I would not let Walmart touch my skateboard much less one of our cars, and especially not our 2015 Genesis which has 2 large underpanels.

I exhausted the internet trying to find out what’s involved in the oil change process, and after learning about those under panels, yes I agree there is no way Walmart goons would be able to complete the job 100% correctly. Looks like I’m going to the dealership!
