  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Love the forums. used it to replace the trunk release when the cover split.

Living the life in Honolulu. Only doing 2k miles a year now as the island is not big - unlike Dallas where I did 15k annually.

Now my windshield washer has died. The pump makes noise but no flow when i pulled off the hose to the spray nozzles.

Anyone done this before and do I have to go in through the wheel arch or can it be done from the top?

Any guidance appreciated

You'll have to take the wheel liner off. Do note that probably, you washer pump is just fine. Most likely the inlet screen to it is clogged. There's some kind of something like jello that grows in the bottom of the reservoir. You probably just need to pull the pump off the reservoir and then wash out the reservoir really good. You may be able to do this with it on the car, but it is easier if you remove it. I think you may also have to remove the plastic cover in that area under the hood.

thanks, that was what I feared. I may try the Milton cure some BMW owners tried with some success.

You have to sort of roll over the fender, then you stand between the engine and the tank so you can easily reach it to remove the pump. Oh, wait, that was the instructions for a '64 Chevy with a straight six. Now I cannot even identify many of the parts crowded under the hood.
