  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 3.8 was manufactured in August of 2014. When I purchased it in November it had ONE red and yellow back-up camera overlay. Regretfully, the GPS was intermittent and failed after about 20 minutes of driving. The fix was to replace the head unit which was done under warranty last Thursday (12-17-14).

After the head replacement the car now has TWO back-up camera overlays. One is red and yellow, and the other is red, yellow and green. The red and yellow overlay turns when I turn the steering wheel, but the red, yellow and green overlay does not turn when I turn the steering wheel.

Does anyone else have TWO back-up camera overlays?
Thanks, jime

Try touching the screen in the lower left corner. A selection will pop up allowing you to select the alternate view. This in turn MIGHT reset the view in both selections. Or, my only other suggestion is take to the dealership. I am sure they will just disconnect the battery and create a full reset. Let them do it.

My thought in writing this post that the double overlay may be a new feature that came with the new head unit.

kev4 - I tried touching the lower-left, and everywhere else on the screen after going from park to reverse each try and there is no pop-up.

There is a definite error which needs to be resolved by the dealership. Every reverse camera in the 2015 Gen has TWO views while reversing. One is the full rear view, the other is a close up of your bumper and directly below which is used for exact precise parking. The later is selected by touching the lower left corner of the screen while in reverse gear.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Are you saying they both show at the same time? There are 2 views, the top view which comes on when you press the lower right of the screen where it says "top view". The normal backup view is the default view. They should not show at the same time.

Both show at the same time. There is no button in the left corner to push to select "top view" and touching the screen in the lower left (or anywhere else) has no effect.

I am planning to leave to go the dealer in about 15 minutes. I think I will need another $4900 head unit.

It is not a physical button, its a virtual button which appears when you touch the left lower corner of your screen. Just a suggestion.... LOOK in your manual.

After discussion between dealer and Hyundai Technical Support it was determined that the problem is caused by a ROM chip having been burnt with the wrong version of software - the head unit will need to be replaced (again).

P.S. New recall released yesterday for leaking seals around the tail lights.

Looked all over for this and I can't find word ONE about this recall: can you point us in the direction of information about this and that it speaks specifically to our Hyundai Genesis 2015s?

Thanks Alley

Ditto...

tail light seal recall

Service manager told me about the recall and said that he would install the update tail light seals when I brought my car in to have the head changed again. He must have been mistaken about the recall as I can't find anthing either. I am still waiting for the replacement head unit, but I will ask him again when I get it replaced.
