  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys I am wondering if anyone else on here has experienced the same issue and resolved it. Really don't want to get a ticket but so far I've managed to be good. One side of my lights for my license plate is dim but if I hit it a few times it comes back to full brightness. But then goes dim again (probably when hitting a bump in the road...). Its not the bulbs as I swapped them and had the same issue. Have a feeling it has something to do with the wiring and will get expensive to repair. Provided video of my issue

Check the socket itself to be sure the bulb is making good contact. Check where the wire connects. Be sure the socket has a good ground. Since tapping makes a difference I don't think the problem is down the line but close the the bulb and socket.

Ok I'll take a look tomorrow. I had removed the bulbs and messed with the grounds made sure they were nice and tight and also moved the socket to make a tighter fit but did not make a difference. Also swapped the bulbs and experienced the same issue on the one side only so it isnt the bulb. I will check the wire connection tomorrow. Thanks

Not sure what bulb type, but with the ones that twist in the socket you can clean the contact with a pencil erasor or similar type of tool.
