You have a point...the market is the market...and many buyers seem satisfied with their GV70 as optioned and priced...but you could not be more wrong in assuming affordability as the issue when it is actually expectations. Opinions vary. As one voice in the market, my particular and only "opportunity" to purchase a late 2022 GV70 2.5t expected in April. Included are 9K in options (advanced package + wheel locks + cargo net + paint = 9K, plus 1.6K additional dealer mark-ups all totaling 10.6K over the base model...none of which were mechanical upgrades...the GV70 as optioned and priced (54K before TxTL) raises my expectations for the mechanicals to be higher than those of the 42K base vehicle...the GV70 transmission while touted as being made the same company as BMW's is reviewed as not shifting as well. The 2.5t engine is reviewed as having vibration issues particularly when going into drive from a stop (motor mounts?)...the suspension when it come to handling ranks last against it's main competitors yet there is no suspension upgrade...LSD if available in the 2.5t would assist the suspension and handling around corners. And then there is the issue of protection against rising theft of catalytic converters of which SUVs are particularly vulnerable...The 58K out the door is not the issue here. The issue is what is being offered. As one voice in the market I am simply voicing an interest in having the option of spending more on mechanical upgrades and theft deterence vs things like side curtains, heated steering wheel, remote parking assist and Napa leather etc...So Genesis, if you are listening, here is one voice in the market... for 2023 for this customer it would be nice to see a mechanical upgrade package to the GV70 2.4t to address the constructive feedback of independent reviewers regarding handling and vibration. After some of the comments here I realize should have originally used the word mechanical rather than performance because some people hold the assumption that performance means "faster" in a straight line from point A to point B. So for them, does performance in bed mean faster? Or, could performance mean satisfying your partner?
