  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
No Genesis Yet!
So I am looking for a 5 th car for the family. Have recently come upon opportunity to purchase a 2011 Genesis with 150,000 miles for a very good price ( under $6,000). Car Fax shows regular maintanance, no accidents. I have not driven it yet, and to get it need to drive 4 hrs. I know there will be the obvious comments like drive it. But looking for high milers opinion. Thoughts from the forum.

I had same year model 4.6 with tech and put over 220,000 miles on it . wonderful car. Very reliable. that said, you should check and make sure the transmission has been serviced (cost is 400.00 to 600.00) OEM brakes are the best but expensive. My brakes lasted to over 130,000 miles. Only use oem oil filters, the engine can be damaged if if bad after market oil filters are used. I miss my Genny.

You got good advice from homeofstone. Any car with high miles has some risk, of course. Worn suspension, bushings, bearings, etc. At least mentally set aside some funds "just in case" so you won't feel bad if you find something. Hope it works out well for you.
