  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My local Hyundai dealer has just changed hands (again) and I dropped by yesterday to see what they had in new-ish CPO stuff.

They had a new (250 miles, never titled) 2013 3.8 with both Tech and Premium packages...I'm assuming that was fully loaded for 2013...in medium gray with black interior.

The sticker was $44.5K, and they were very excited to offer it to me for $34K.

I'm thinking this could go as low as $31K, and seems like a good value.

Opinions???

Which dealer in Atlanta?

I bought a similar 2012 3.8 with Tech from Rick Case Gwinnett a couple years ago for around $34K. It had about 3,500 miles on it, if I remember correctly, and had not been titled.

Your offer sounds very high compared to mine. A 2013 today is more than one model year older than the 2012 was when I got mine-- the 2012 was still the current MY then.

I agree-- the value should be in the low $30s, not $34K. When I did my shopping, I found Jim Ellis about average, and Nalley, Ed Voyles, and Southtowne Hyundai higher than others.

I bought a 2013 Tech, silver/black, with 16 miles on it for a little under $34k. This was in mid-April before the 2015s were out. I would assume that with more miles, and 3 months later, the price should be even better. I'd say ~$32k is a worthwhile offer.

(Note that the Tech Package always includes the Premium Package)

I've seen people on this forum buying new 2013 r-specs for $32-34K. I'd say no more than 28K for a 3.8.

A *new* R-Spec for that price? I've seen some with a couple thousand demo miles on that for that price...

A demo with a couple thousand miles is sold as new and has full warranty from time of purchase (current mileage).

Yes, that's true. But a demo is always discounted, so comparing a non-demo and demo price is invalid.

Expecting to get a non-demo 2013 3.8 Tech for around $28k because someone else bought a demo RSpec for $32k is unrealistic.

If you do get it for $28k, I tip my hat.

Right now is the time to buy. They are looking to unload the old models to make more room for the new. I would start with an offer of $28k and go from there. Good luck...

Not that it helps, as my situation was different...

I just bought a "new" (never titled) 2013 3.8 Base model with 4K miles on it in Ohio for $26,100.

I've got one just like that. Had 3,100 miles on it. Never titled. But in all honesty I wouldn't have bought it, knowing what I know now. It has one major defect that cannot be cured. It doesn't have the telescoping wheel. Paid $24,880 for mine in Arkansas. Looks beautiful; now has the wings on front and rear and the winged center caps but it p.o's me every time I drive it without the telescoping wheel. For that reason I can't recommend the older model without the premium package. Live and learn.

I just bought a new 2013 3.8L base for $24,500. 78 miles on the odometer before my test drives.

I completely understand your situation, but every person should be able to decide for themselves if they are comfortable with the default steering wheel position during a test drive. Also, the Genesis 2014 Base Trim (still some around at incredible discounts) does have a manual telescoping steering wheel without having to get the Premium (or Tech) packages.

That is an insanely amazing value.

May I ask you what other costs were involved, such as documentation fees, etc? I paid $1 when I closed the deal. But otherwise you beat me out as I paid $24,880.

Something like a $150 in fees (including title/registration)

Also I didn't haggle at all. The sale price was $24,500 as listed on the car (and on the internet).
