  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I put a deposit on a Prestige 3.5 GV80 after I discovered that there aren’t any for thousands of miles around me. I know that my vehicle isn’t being built just for me, but that my local dealer happened to be getting the exact one I want. The vehicle is projected to arrive early October. If you ordered yours, did it arrive earlier or later? Were you able to track progress or your salesperson just updated you? Any problems encountered?

I ordered a silver GV80 prestige in March, still not here. I'm now getting a GV70 in 2 weeks. I believe its the chip issue's so many manufacturers are having. Trying to get a particular color combination is very difficult. Good Luck.

Did your salesperson give you a delivery date? I asked mine about chip issues, wondering if that would delay mine, but he didn’t have any news

I put a deposit down on a Prestige GV80 Adriatic blue /dune because I was having a terrible time finding that car. Once I found it I acted immediately. A dealership 200 miles away had one coming in Sept. 27. They sent me a copy of the vehicle information sheet that had the Vin# along with a complete breakdown of all of the features of the car so I knew exactly what my car was. I don't need to worry about chips because the car is built. I will update you as I get closer to the estimated shipping date and let you know the accuracy of that date.

This sounds like my situation. I was able to find a dealer 10 miles from me who was getting the exact model I was looking for. They sent me the window sticker with AON/VIN and a delivery date of Oct 5th. Deposit down and now I wait.

I wasn’t clear if my car was already built or still being built, or when it ships. Don’t really understand vehicle timelines.

Granted I only looked for 4 days but the Blue exterior and dune/blue interior is the hot item! All 7 my salesman found around me shipping to dealerships already had a deposit ... I ended up getting Himalayan gray with the dune/blue interior and I honestly love it. Still think I would prefer blue overall, but im very happy with my purchase

On the GV70 he said before the 15th of this month. They have no idea about the GV80, but if that's the one you want I would expand options like colors to get one.

Touched base with my sales guy last week and the delivery date was moved up a day. Wish it was two weeks earlier but I’ll take it.

Interestingly, he said the vehicle is already in California being assembled, then it will make its way to Texas. Didn’t realize the cars weren’t assembled in Korea.

Never heard of such a thing. Mine was completely built when it came off the boat from Korea to Georgia.

I put down $1000 to hold it, all refundable if I change my mind. It’s coming in 3 weeks so I can hold out ;-)

Either his sales guy just made an unfortunate choice of words, or he is a complete and total idiot. Basically pretty much all that happens at the port of entry is some software updates, an occasional added accessory like the wheel locks, first aid kit, bumper applique, etc. Then the Monroney (window sticker) is printed and it goes on its way to the dealer.

I wondered about that because I couldn’t find any info on a Genesis assembly plant in the US. I think these guys are used to selling Hyundais (assembled in the US I believe) and he assumed these would be too. Welp, maybe this means my car will come even sooner 🤞

U. S. Hyundai's are assembled in Montgomery AL and Kia's are assembled in West Point, GA.
