  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How do I get just outside air flowing in thru the vents with no A/C effect. Days are getting cooler and I want to turn the A/C off and just have the fresh air come in.

Can't you just turn the AC and recirculate buttons to off?

Boy, I wish it was getting cooler here! another 105 degree day, may a record high a well. I think a cold front is comong through this week, it'll get down to the mid to upper 90's

Even with the a/c off and recirculate buttons off the air is still cooled by the a/c. This is crazy but it seems wastefull if the a/ is always running.

Mine also feels cool for some time but I mentioned it to the dealer and they said the compressor was off. It was just residual. If I leave it off long enough it does go normal.

If your A/C button is off and the A/C system is still running, you have a problem - but echoing what SullyC said, it is not an instant transition as cool air stays in the system for a while after the A/C system is turned off. Give it a minute and see if it warms up.

Mine is acting the same way.
If I set the temperature to 69* on a 83* weather for example, even when the A/C button is not lit, I get cold enough air that normally doesn't happen on other vehicles with A/C off.
It really is air conditioned air that's coming out.

I thought the Genesis had some kind of automatic defogger when the sensor detects any condensation on the front windshield.
So I figured that the computer had more control over the A/C.
Correct me if I'm(or my car is) wrong.

Mine also does this, which begs the question, Why is there an A/C button at all?

Push the Auto button... the compressor may or may not come on, depending on ambient conditions. Now push the AC button... the Auto light dims. The compressor is now under manual control. Push it again until the AC light dims... the compressor is now off and will stay off until you manually restore it or put it on Auto again.

Dan,

I believe the problem has to do with the AUTO button...
Try this.

AFTER using the AUTO button...
Once you get out of the AUTO mode (AUTO light OFF), your car might still have the AC on despite the AC light being off.

You need to turn this off manually...HOW?
With the AUTO light OFF turn the AC light on then turn it off.

It should now be permanently OFF...if not you need to go to the dealer cause something is wrong...

I had an AZERA before my Genny and it did the same thing.

Regards,

Awesome, guys:cool:

I always wondered how to just have the vents pull in the outside air without the AC. I tried this last night when I was driving through the rain, and it works. Thanks:D

Thanks all, I now can turn off the compressor and let the fresh air in!!!

I'll have to try that toggling out, but if that is the case, I consider the display of an invalid state to be a bug.
