  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I own 2021 GV80 Genesis. recently I noticed that the fender mold is missing, see picture.

I called dealer, Glassman Genesis in Southfield, MI (closest to my location), and was told that the soonest appointment to take a look at my car is available in December. More than 100 days from when I called. Really, over 100 days???

I would like to read about other member's stories about their experiences with Genesis dealers. I believe we own luxury cars with a junk yard level service.

Why not do a search and you will find plenty of comments. Some good, some not so good. My last appointment was 1 week.
This is one of the problems, not just Genesis

I second that notion that the service for a Genesis sucks big time. Got an automated email telling me to book an appointment for a factory recall. When I got to the dealer they did not have the part. More then a month later received another email that the part for my GV70 is in stock and that it is reserved for my VIN number. Called to make sure of the appointment and talked to a service advisor. He told me the repair will take 24 to 48 hours and asked me do I need a loaner car? Yes I do, he answered I passed it on to the manager who would call me when this can be arranged. That was a week ago.

So I agree we have a luxury car with a p**s poor level of service. Round trip for me to the dealer is 90 minutes.

Of course it’s not your fault that your dealer is 90 minutes away.

Hi EdP,

Before I posted this, I tried searching but could not find anything relevent. Could you please tip me on what key words should I use?

Thank you

In the greater Washington DC area there are like 4 or 5 dealers and they are equally distant from where I live. There are a boatload of car dealerships nearby including a huge Hyundai dealer, but they will not service a 2024 GV70. If I would have known how rubbish the service is I would have gone with a BMW dealership which is close by.

Traveling 90 minutes is no problem, their incompetence to provide a reasonable waiting time while a simple 5000 miles service is performed, is junk yard level service. While I like the car I hate to think what will happen in a few years of wear and tear and more factory recalls. Downright pathetic.

Maybe, maybe not. A considerable number of Hyundai dealers who used to sell Genesis are no longer selling nor servicing Genesis. So the poster may have purchased the car locally only to have the dealership abandon Genesis.

My view is that a quality loaner cures most issues (for me). Something roughly equivalent to my car. The first time my car went in for service I received an electrified G80 and the second time an ICE GV80. Each had less than 3K miles on it. For me, those are very satisfactory loaners.

I also don't mind longish wait times for non emergency issues. But if my car needs service now, I expect the dealership to take it in and give me the loaner even if it means they won't get to it for a week or more. That is the level of service I always received from my BMW dealership and what I expect from my Genesis dealership. So far, I have not needed that type of service so I don't know for certain if Genesis of Scottsdale will meet my expectations. So far, it has on non emergency matters. If the dealership does not meet that standard, I will leave the Genesis world; there is a Penske luxury collection of car dealerships nearby (BMW/MB/JLR/Porsche/Audi/etc.).
