  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,

I just got the timing chain and other T.C. components replaced in my
2011 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 L Sedan and now the engine is over heating very quickly, with in 5-10 mins of turning on the car. I would like to get a little bit of advice to get an idea of what the issue might be before i go and spend my other arm and leg on repairs.

Thanks in advance! :)

It should be the responsibility of whoever did the work to resolve this, assuming that it wasn't overheating before the work was done. It could be as simple as they didn't correctly refill and bleed the cooling system.

I agree however they are saying I have to be charged for it which I refuse to pay. (long timeline of drama with this shop)

My boyfriend has a lot of knowledge about mechanics, (his father had a shop). SO i was trying to see if it could possibly be something simple he could fix.

Did you ever figure out why it's overheating? My first gen 4.6 Genesis is overheating. I have it torn apart right now changing the thermostat. I can't seem to find the thermostat that I need for the housing that's in my car.
