  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

P0599 on a 2018 Genesis G80 Sport - Thermostat/Housing Replaced(not the entire unit along the backside of the engine as that can be replaced?), Water Pump Replaced, Wiring appears to be intact, haven’t tested the connector for power and ground yet. This is the only code so I don’t think the PCM is bad, Battery is bad/needs to be charged, jump starting the car, ghost code? These thermostats are electronically controlled, but they’re also regular mechanical thermostats too, so it’s still not opening with the coolant temp at 225, behind whatever these are suppose to open at. So either it’s only electronically controlled to open, or hot coolant isn’t reaching the thermostat? The heat blows cool, no hot coolant reaching the heater core. What’s the deal? PCM is last on the list in my opinion. Cooling fan cycles, the car seemed to take in a lot of coolant (2 gal) after the water pump. As we ran the car the coolant would surge high in the bleeding funnel, we shut the car off and the coolant would be sucked in fast.
