  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have got a 2009 with the 3.8V6 The engine light came on and when I connect it to my code reader it shows:
P2187 System Too Lean At Idle Bank 1

Anyone have any ideas what would cause this?

Thanks in advance!
Steve

Any mods to the car or recent service done on it? How many miles?

I would guess 02 sensors, intake leak, or maybe a vacuum/PCV leak.

If it is a fueling issue, perhaps a faulty injector, pump/filter causing low pressure/flow, or EVAP canister issue.

Could be tricky to track down without the correct equipment. I would make sure my air box is is fastened down correctly and then clear the code and see how fast it comes back. If it is always affecting the one bank, that may be a clue on where to look. Perhaps the service manual has a troubleshooting section for this that might help.

Good luck.
