  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai 3M024-ADU00 Clear Film Hood Protector for Hyundai Genesis

I can't imagine for that money it does any good, other than possibly keep bugs from sticking to the paint in that area. Inexpensive films will yellow over time, and deteriorate just like vinyl stripes, without any UV protection. This often will result in that area looking worse than if it had been left naked.

I did a "full front wrap" which includes:

Complete front bumper cover
Complete hood
Complete right & left fenders
Right & left mirrors
Both headlights
Both fog lights
Both radar sensor covers
4 door cups
4 door edge guards

The film used was Xpel Ultimate; a self healing film.

I see the kit you are looking at for $36.00 here: http://www.hyundai-parts.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=332253

One square foot of the Xpel Ultimate product is $11.00 on their site, just for price comparison purposes.

I would hate for you to install something on the car under the guise of protecting it, only to have said product create bigger issues down the road.

I guess I did a front partial. Any front facing painted part: lower hood, front bumper, rear view mirrors. I used 3M invisishield, and paid ~450. I didn't do the lights. Rock chips are a huuuuge issue here in Houston. It has saved me a few times already.

Did you install yourself? If so, how difficult was the process?

No, it was professionally installed. After watching the process and the techniques utilizied, there is no way I would want to even attempt it.

What did that run you?

What did that run you?

Retail price in my region is $1495. The installer is a business associate and friend, and I paid cash, so..... ;)

Just called dealer for XPEL Ultimate, and they quoted $890 (installed) for Hood, Fender, Mirror and Bumper Kit.

So when is your appointment? ;)

leave the car on Monday 11/5 evening and pick it Tuesday 11/6 evening. They said they need to clean/wash and keep it cool before they install and then keep in the sun for few hrs to settle down.

Awesome! Let us know how it turns out. :)

Well, how did it turn out? :)

Sorry did not post it earlier... just got it last evening and it looks great thnx for the Xpel advise (rescheduled for Tuesday/Wednesday in stead Monday/Tuesday).

$800 for
Complete front bumper cover
hood
right & left fenders
Right & left mirrors
Both headlights
Both fog lights
Both radar sensor covers

i still see couple (2-3) small bubbles on the hood but the dealer said they will go away in a day (as it was just installed and weather was cold), hopefully they go away.

Awesome; thanks for the follow up. Yes, the bubbles will cure out in a few days to a week, depending on the weather.
