  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

All of my other cars with PDC had volume that could be adjusted by the user. Even with Music playing at a fairly low level the PDC is drowned out... but I see no way to control it. Am I missing something ??

Thanks

You are correct, volume is unduly Low.
No known way to increase volume except by wiring in a "beeper" with a higher default volume....😎

How about just turning the radio off, or down, when parking? Would that work? Parking does require some extra attention.

I'm reasonably sure my 2009 Genesis with tech package had a louder sound when parking than my Equus. When I had my first oil change on the Equus I asked if it could be made louder and they told me there was no way to do it.

The 2013 Genesis they loaned me for the oil change also could hardly be heard.

This solution is too effective, obvious and simple .... :D

You forgot "USELESS", much like the post you are quoting. That solution is as USEFUL as telling you to turn the Radio UP rather than try to diagnose the cause of a squeak or rattle.

The point is, THE DRIVER should be about to control the volume, especially in a vehicle at this price point.

Ludicrous.

You can't just stop when the display turns from green to yellow to RED?

The loudness of the beep is dependent on your age.
The older you get the less you`ll hear it cause the beep is a relatively higher pitch.

My dad 86 can not hear it at all!
I`m 49 and it`s pretty loud to me.

Just saying...

I don't disagree that the beep isn't all that loud, that's why it has a visual indicator as well.

But, name a car at any price that allows you to adjust the volume of the park distance alarm? No MB, BMW, Lexus, Acura, and anything else I've owned had that, much less something at half the cost.

Me, I'm 72 next, I can hear the "beep" quite clearly even with my radio On''
Being able to adjust the Beep Volume has nothing to do with Age...Maybe peoples hearing in general....(get a hearing aid)
Name a car at any price that allows you to adjust the volume of the park distance alarm? -- My uncles Ford Cortina, his wife has the loudest voice EVER//S T O P..

My kid's bicycle told me when to stop.

I only needed it one time.

I was able to control the volume in the last 3 BMW's I've had (All 3 series with iDrive) You could also control the volume of the "Warning" signal as well as the Phone Mic VOLUME. So I'm not sure what you are talking about.

I don't have the 550 anymore, but I still have the manual electronically and yes, the volume was adjustable, I just never used it. I still don't see that as an issue, I look at the display or rear camera view for parking, or just never get that close.
What I find lacking is the stupid lane departure warning. Regardless of volume, at least in the BMW, the steering wheel would vibrate and I didn't have to select "ON" every time I started the car. THAT gets your attention.

And in the Equus the seat belt grabs you like a boa. I never use LDW.

I am deaf in one ear and can hear the beeping perfect. I don't blast my stereo when trying to park. Use common sense....
