If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hi Everyone,

My 2009 tech package Genesis has been exhibiting an intermittent problem with the front parking sensors. They emit a constant chime, as if something is directly blocking them, even though nothing is there. It happens almost every day at this point.

I took it to the dealer today and they have told me I need to replace the front wiring harness (they say the sensors and module are working normal). They quoted me $1498.06 CAD, taxes in, for parts and labor. This was incredibly shocking to me, and I certainly can't afford that to fix an intermittent beeping sound.

Now my question is this; can anyone find the part number I'd need to replace this harness on an 09 Genesis Sedan, 3.8L V6? The part number they wrote down at the dealership is: 918103M230 When I search for this online, it says it's a wiring harness for the adaptive lighting and AQS system. The part number I've found in my own research, that seems correct, is: 918903M020

The dealership is telling me I'm incorrect because the techs based it on "their diagram". The part I found is 1/3 the price of their part as well. I feel like they're going to replace something that doesn't need to be replaced, just to end up changing the correct harness later. Maybe I'm paranoid... can anyone confirm the correct part number for a wiring harness for front parking sensors??

Thank you SO much.

I've now been told a third part number, by a second Hyundai dealer: 918403M010

My dealer has now agreed to do the service under my extended warranty (HPP). This thread can be closed, unless it may be useful to someone else experiencing a similar problem. The correct part number has been found to be:918403M010

Sorry you didn't get any responses to your thread here. Must not be a very common problem but I will leave the thread open in case others end up having the same issue. Glad to hear that it is going to be covered under your extended warranty.

To find the other part number did the dealer just run your VIN and see what options you have?

Thank you! The dealer ended up actually calling someone at Hyundai Canada, to request information on the correct part number, based on my VIN. Apparently it was quite difficult to find!

Sorry to "revive" this, but the wiring harness replacement did not fix the issue. I wasn't even out of the dealer parking lot and my sensor gave me a nice long "BEEEEEEEEEEEP". What an awful feeling :(

The dealer elevated the case to "high technical" or something of that nature... to seek advice from Hyundai Canada on the issue. The tech has been advised to replace two of my parking sensors (the ones that consistently show up on the dash as having an obstacle in front of them).

My question to anyone with technical knowledge; Is there a chance that the whole head unit could be causing this? Or would parking sensor issues be related to simply the sensors, wiring harness, and module?

I've just had other issues intermittently where my backup camera screen will be completely black.. no picture to it at all, just the guidelines. Also; people often hear a terrible echo when on a bluetooth call with me. I have heard of other people having these issues resolved by replacing the entire head unit.

The wife just informed me her 11 Genny is doing the same thing. With the sensor button engaged the beeping will start randomly when pressing the brake pedal. I drove it last Sunday and could not reproduce the issue. Could be heat related but I have not asked if it happen only in the late afternoon or at all times.
