Passenger seat stuck reclined

I have a 2022 genesis g70 LE and my passenger seat is stuck in the reclined position. I can adjust the lumbar, use the heated and cooled seats, and adjust it forward and backward but the recline buttons on the left and right side of the seats will not adjust the angle. I took it to the dealership because this is of course fixable under warranty and they said they tried to reset the seat and it didn't work. They think it's the switch that needs replacement so they ordered the part, but of course, since they share a service department with hyundai they have me scheduled a month out. Has anyone had a similar issue? Could this be a simple fuse issue? The part number for the switch they ordered is 88640g9030nnb.

Why is it "think?" There are troubleshooting procedures that are not all that involved that would allow them to be certain of the problem before just throwing parts at it.

I have no clue why they weren't absolutely sure. I figured this would be a simple fix, especially with their diagnostic tools. The tech I spoke to just didn't exude confidence haha.

What does that mean? Your title says 'passenger seat', but the above statement implies BOTH front seats don't work, since passenger seat only has switches on the right side. Please clarify. If both seats don't work, I'd suspect the seat module, or something that affects both. Good luck.

I assume that he is talking about the switches on the right side down on the side of the seat cushion.

And about the switches up on the left side of the seat back.

Yea I'm referring to the limo switch that's only on the passenger seat.

Oh, I get it now. Forgot about those (ha ha). Sorry. Did you take a look under the seat (raise it all the way first)? Since the rest of the seat is functioning well, it could be a connector disconnected. If not, then probably the motor. Never heard of that, but it should be fixed under warranty if a defect. Good luck.

Dealer ordered a part which, according to them, did not fix the problem so they contacted Genesis corp and were told they are working on a program update.
Finally got tired of waiting so I contacted Genesis and opened a ticket. Got a call last week and was told that a “field engineer “ will contact me to set up an appointment.

I have an issue with the driver's side lumbar controls not working anymore. This also affects the "hug" the seat gives you when switching to Sport Mode. I have the dealer checking it out next week, hopefully they can fix it soon as warranty is up end of August.

Status? I just got a 2023 G70 2 October. Same thing. The steering wheel will raise/retract, but the seat doesn't move.

I am told by Genesis that the seat entry system will only work on seats that are set “way forward” close to the steering wheel! If it is set back, the easy entry system will not work as a safety measure for the rear passenger.
