If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I have a question regarding the passenger side mirror going down when you put the car in reverse?

When I first got the car I noticed the feature which can come in handy once in a while in parallel parking maneuvers, but lately in the last couple days I noticed when I put it in reverse it doesn't go down anymore:confused:

Is there something I'm doing wrong or did it stop working already?

Thanks

Sweet! Thanks I knew it was something that I hadn't noticed yet.

Are you sure you'r not my brother-in-law?

His motto is; "When all else fails, read the owners manual".

Lol that's funny I thought about that when he told me? Oh well I suppose I'll read it soon. Only had the car for 2 weeks it's about time I go through it:D

It's dependent on the position of the mirror adjustment switch. If it's centered, the mirrors do not tilt down; if left, both mirrors; if right, only the right mirror.
Well, that's the way it works on my brother's 2009 3.8, and the way the owner's manual for my 2010 3.8 Tech says it should work. However, on my car both mirrors tilt down when the switch is at and left AND when it is at the right. This is NOT GOOD. When you are parallel parking, you want it to work like the manual says: the right mirror should go down so you can see the curb, and the left mirror should not go down, so you can see if traffic is coming behind you.

So I took my car to the dealer to have it fixed, and he told me that sometime along the production run of my model, they took that feature out, and I am stuck with left = both, center = neither, right = both. I don't know if I can believe him, because once before, he gave me false information about not being able to correct a feature the manual said I should have.

To be truthffull with you, this is a non-issue with me, although it may be an issue with you.

My Continental is set so when my wife drives it, the mirrors tilt down when backing, however I can't stand the mirrors doing that, so when I drive it, I have my setting so the mirrors stay in their normal position.

My Genesis, although I can move the mirrors down, I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've tilted either of the mirrors down. Just not something I use.
