  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently read in the "likes" thread that someone likes the fact that media shuffle mode can be set to always on. Can anyone tell me how this is accomplished? Every time I restart the vehicle shuffle mode defaults to "off" and I have to go through the steps to reset shuffle mode back to "on".
Thanks gents, and ladies!

Maybe that was me, are you using a USB drive for your music?? That is where my shuffle is always on. When your in media, press menu button and there is a shuffle music option. Thats all i did.

All of my music is on a iTouch. Must operate differently than USB. When I go to menu and select "ON" in the shuffle mode, it only remains on until the next time the ignition is turned off. At that time it reverts to what appears to be the default "OFF" setting.

I've gone through the entire sequence of settings again and again and cannot find any way to change the default shuffle setting to "on". :(

Why not set the crapple touch to shuffle??

Im guessing this is on the 2015.

My 2011 tech package I use a USB drive for all my music and every time I restart the car the random/shuffle has to be enabled.

Sorry for not mentioning this in my first post. My Genesis is a 2015 5.0 Ultimate. I began the thread in the general discussion page for the 2015 model so I didn't think it was necessary to mention the model year. One of the Mods must have moved it here.
Never thought about setting the iTouch to shuffle. It clearly shuffles when operated independently from the vehicle. I'll try it in the car and report back.

Set the iTouch to shuffle to test the theory. Didn't work. Still defaulted to "Off". Guess this means there is no work around.

This issue really bugs me with my 2013 3.8 Premium. The car can remember where I left my climate controls, radio station, volume, etc., but it can't remember I left shuffle on.

And of course when you activate shuffle, you lose the song currently playing because it skips to the next song. And to add insult to injury, the shuffle feature doesn't even work well when on (playing 4-5 songs from same folder before moving to other folders).

+1

In the 2013 Tech, I can remove the USB drive, add/remove songs, put it back in, and it will resume the song it was playing before I removed it. But it won't remember the setting to repeat a track/folder.

Small, but impactful, miscue by Hyundai engineering.
