Thanks, joegr, you are a scholar and a gentleman. I pulled both Multimedia fuses and after waiting 30 minutes the drain dropped to 0.24 (with the trunk open and trunk lights on). I then put back in the 10A fuse for the Nav unit and monitor and after waiting 30 minutes the drain was again about 0.24.
Does this look like the head unit problem or could it be something else? Again, it's 3 amps or 36 watts, which seems like a lot - have other people had this much drain from just a bad head unit?
I called the dealer and the replacement unit is available and is $2500 with tax for the part alone. That slowed me down on getting a new one. I may try to repair or get the old one repaired.
Anyway, not happy about this, but hoping this info will be helpful to others who find themselves in the same unfortunate situation.
