Phone Quality BT versus CarPlay/Android

All,

For the 3rd time in two weeks I have had someone on the other end complain about the quality of my transmitting voice while taking a call on CarPlay. As soon as I unplug and move to BT the receiving end indicates FAR better call sound on the transmit.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have heard there is an update which fixed some CarPlay issues, but I have not had the time to research my version and the update version.

Can't comment on CarPlay, but I was on a couple calls today while connected via Android Auto and no one said a thing.

I've only used BT for calls. No problems/difficulty hearing me as of yet.

One of the reasons that Apple ditched the 3.5mm jack was so that they could eliminate a DAC inside the phone. The lightning to 3.5mm adapters had their own DAC.
Not saying that this is the problem for wired Car Play but it could be if BT sounds better than wired!
