  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just picked up a G70 3.3T RWd sport prestige / sport tech package,
came from a '13 g37 that I had forever,

First impressions, wow feels like I time travelled 10 years. The power vs G37 is incredible.
I cross shopped this vs Acura TL-S / m340i / used M3 F80, test drove all 3 for extended periods of time and came to the conclusion that g70 was the best all around package.
TL just felt anemic and interior quality / ride was not even close, power was very low for what it makes on paper.
m340i felt slightly faster, but for a street car / dd the g70 is 9/10 performance for about 15k$ less.

Not to mention the 10 year warranty is a huge deal, this is the car you purchase vs the bmw would be an OK lease car (but fiy I got lease quotes m340i with 810 credit score everyone wanted 5k down and 1.3k a month, made no sense to lease a bmw vs get a g70 outright)

Power: coming from a g37 with 332hp on paper and this car being 365hp on paper - does not compute at all, its about twice as fast as the g37, the turbos spool extremely fast and the transmission feels equivalent to the m340i ZF (I also did test drive a 2019 g70 and this transmission tunning is definitely a huge upgrade)

Handling: did not get to test this much yet but no complaints, huge difference between comfort / sport modes.

Will review the rest of the qualities later, but this is bar none best bang for the buck you can get for an ICE sports sedan. I did consider Tesla model 3 performance

So far extremely impressed with build quality and what genesis has done as a new comer to the market. Looks are subjective but this is extremely unique unlike the plethora of the BMWs/Acuras on the road.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your new Genesis G70! Nice upgrade from the Infiniti G37, which I have always liked... I'm glad to see you did your researched and came to the conclusion that the G70 was the right car for you. I imagine pricing won't always be so great as Genesis becomes a well-known luxury brand - but everyone can enjoy the great pricing while it lasts. I'm glad you found us! :)

G37 was a great car back in its heydays. Sad Infiniti is still making pretty much the same basic platform today.

Kinda like Audi, Acura stuck with FWD-based platforms. Not my preference for an enthusiast's car.

Only one your list that has a good case are the BMWs. Biggest thing though - at least around my area - is that everybody and his uncle drives one. It's like SUVs lining at the primary school pickup lane... they all just turn into yellow school buses.

I agree with your review. I actually came out of a BMW 540 and in the past eight years had owned two Audi A7s and a BMW 550. I absolutely love the G70, also with 3.3 Sport/Prestige.

Welcome to the club!😁
I also looked at several other brands but the G70 offered so much value that I couldn't pass it up. Absolutely love the car. No regrets.

Very nice man. Congrats!

I too cross shopped the BMW M340i with the Genesis G70. I really wanted the BMW, but too much of a monthly lease payment.
Dr. Acula,....that's the name of a band, isn't it? LOL

I had a 2019 G70 and was going to keep it but then I wanted the warranty and concierge and let's face it, a NEW car!

I tried the M340 - cool car for sure but clinical feeling and too much $$
I tried the IS500 - lethargic unless 90% throttle, then it was great. Also too much $$
I tried the S5 - Nice interior and screens. Didn't inspire me. Too much $$

I then tried a new 2023 G70 and loved it. Go figure. LOL

I would definitely like to have a Lexus, especially an F Sport vehicle, but in my opinion, I think they are lacking in power. Other than that, a solid and good looking ride.

Well, the IS500 is the V8 with 472hp. So lots of power but the transmission is brutally old and slow. The car is beautiful. The engine bullet proof. I wanted it but once I did the test drive... I couldn't do it.

I couldn't own that car unless I sold the Mustang and I wouldn't sell the Mustang for that car. LOL
I need either awd or 4wd for my daily driver.

But, I agree, they are great looking cars.
