  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey
Picking up a 2023 G70 3.3T in a few days. Since I live in snowy and salty Toronto region, I was thinking of spraying some oil/wax on the nuts and bolts under the car so that in the future they are not rusted solid. I don’t want full rubberized spray or the one where they drill holes in body panels and spray stuff. Does anybody recommend something like this? I was specifically thinking of fluid film or similar product. Again, the intent is to help with any future work on the car as I plan to keep it for 10+ years.

Thanks for any input.

I used fluid film on all of my vehicles when I lived up north. I highly recommend it. Only downside is reapplying after it wears off but I rather do that than have any other type of coating.

Thanks. What I’ll do in the spring is give it a super good wash underneath and apply it to all the nuts, threads, and bolts. I don’t mind doing it every couple years.

Thanks. What I’ll do in the spring is give it a super good wash and spray all the bolts, exposed threads, nuts. I don’t mid reapplying every couple years. I don’t see how it could hurt anything.
